Who we are
DeA – Società di ingegneria Srl (DeAssociati) is an independent planning and architecture of-fice specialising in research, consultancy and design in the fields of architecture and urban development. Founded in 2009 in Rome, the firm brings together two decades of professional and academic experience built around the work of Italian urban planner Vezio De Lucia and a multidisciplinary team of architects, planners and engineers. With offices in Rome and St. Lorenzen (South Tyrol), DeAssociati works at the intersection of spatial planning, sustainable urban design and environmental assessment, supporting public authorities and private clients throughout Italy and abroad.
What we do
DeAssociati provides integrated services across the full planning and design cycle, including:
• Urban and Regional Planning: municipal and inter-municipal plans, masterplans, regen- eration strategies and planning regulations.
• Environmental Assessment and Sustainability: SEA/ESIA, climate and risk analysis, land- scape and cultural-heritage studies.
• Architectural and Urban Design: preliminary and executive design for buildings and pub-lic spaces, with a focus on residential buildings, schools and public facilities.
• Sustainable Building and Neighbourhood Certification: CasaClima® low-energy design, ITACA® and DGNB® sustainability assessment for buildings and urban districts.
• GIS, WebGIS and BIM: spatial data infrastructures, web-based planning tools and BIM-based design and coordination.
Selected project areas
• Municipal and inter-municipal town plans and mobility strategies in Central and Northern Italy (e.g. municipality of Sesto Fiorentino, Union of Municipalities “Terre e Fiumi” near Ferrara)
• Green and blue infrastructure: urban parks and nature-based solutions in metropolitan contexts (e.g. Urban parks in Rome, public spaces in Fiano Romano (RM))
• Urban regeneration and masterplans for former military sites, harbour areas and historic districts (e.g. caserma Druso in Silandro (BZ), quarters of Matera (MT), port of Ancona (AN))
• Residential and Accomodation: public and private residencial buildings, student housing, holiday resort (e.g. Spa-Resort in San Candido, Student-Hotel Bologna, Residential in Brunico)
Team & network
DeAssociati is led by architects Francesca De Lucia (Managing Director) and Georg Josef Frisch (Technical Director), and works with a stable core team of planners, architects and GIS/BIM specialists. Depending on the assignment, the firm activates a consolidated network of experts in economics, transport, landscape, environmental sciences and structural and MEP engineer-ing, ensuring tailor-made multidisciplinary teams for each project.
